Thrift shops and used bookstores often have some great options. *You can also use heavy-weight mixed media paper (300g/m2) as an alternative. I often use Strathmore 400 Series Mixed Media Vellum Surface.
• A variety of papers - search out different colours, textures, and weights. Also, pull abstract pieces and any "items" or non-abstract things that catch your eye! Try to include some pieces with bits of typography/lettering on them. Old magazines, books, and newspapers are excellent sources. You can also include painted deli papers, acid-free tissue paper, homemade collage paper/scraps, and old photographs.
• Scissors, cutting knives, cutting mats.
• Glue! Elmer's Acid-Free is my favourite, but use your favourites or what you have. Matte medium or matte gel medium will work, too (if you use this, be sure to have a brush ready).

Whether it’s the grain of an old wooden table, the shadow play on a city sidewalk, or the vibrant chaos of your everyday life, these elements can make your collage truly yours.
• Scan or photograph your paper & fodder stash: That stack of vintage postcards, torn book pages, or leftover gel prints? It’s a treasure trove waiting to be digitized. Scanning or photographing your favorite textures and ephemera allows you to incorporate them into your digital work while preserving their original charm. Plus, it gives you endless creative flexibility—resize, layer, and remix without ever running out of your favorite pieces.
