JANUARY 2024

Happy New Year! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being my biggest cheerleaders and making it possible for me to make a living doing what I love. 🌈💼

The excitement we've created around gel plates and collage has been the heartbeat of our community, giving us miles of inspiration. As we eagerly step into the blank canvas of 2024, let's continue this journey together, exploring new horizons and embracing the limitless possibilities that await.

Cheers to another year of artistic brilliance!🥂🎨

Now on to studio news...

STUDIO NEWS

Recent studio work

Through December, I went back to working on my iPad because of a lack of art time. We all know the end of the year is busy not only finishing up those pesky end-of-year tasks but also with holiday time.

Using an iPad not only leverages the convenience of digital tools but also opens up creative possibilities, allowing me to experiment with texture, color, and perspective to craft collages that reflect the complex and multifaceted nature of urban environments which fascinates me so much.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Matte Medium on a gel plate

Did you know you can use matte medium on a gel plate? It’s a great way to pick up dried paint off the plate as it’s essentially clear.

Matte medium is basically acrylic paint with no pigmentation. So, use it just like you would any paint on a gel plate.

This is a great technique for tissue paper and deli paper because it’s a clear layer when you pull your dried paint off the plate… great to use for collage.
